I was about to complain about the usual issues associated with Mondays at work – ESPECIALLY after a holiday. But I refrained! My Super Twitter Friend, William Del Toro, hipped me to this…now no more case of the Mondays! Not quite motivational music but hope it helps you through the day….
Excuses are tools of the incompetent used to build monuments to nothing. For those who specialize in them shall never be good at anything else.
Siiiiiiggggghhhh….the past few weeks I’ve not been doing a lot of things. My reason? I don’t have one. But I’ve got a crapload of excuses!
- I can’t because I don’t have time because of work.
- I been so tired lately.
- Well I’m saving so I can’t really spend money right now.
- Well I gave up meat so I don’t have to work out since I’m losing weight anyway.
- I can’t work out because I don’t have a gym.
- I can’t write because I need a hard drive for my MAC and I don’t want to lose anything I may come up with.
- I can’t step out on my own because I need money, stability, security, etc.
- I’m too old for that.
- I tried before and it didn’t work.
- I don’t have enough help.
- I have too much help and I need to do it on my own.
- I’m gonna do it on Saturday when I’m off.
- I’m too tired.
- I haven’t been able to find __________ like what I had in L.A.
- I don’t know enough people to make it work.
- I need this that and this to finish.
- Everything has to be all perfect before I make a move…
And the list goes on and on. What excuses have you been speaking lately?
I have a bizarre memory. I remember quite a bit of random information. If someone told me something, I can recall the tone of their voice and every detail of the conversation. I can remember going places when I was a child and remembering everything down to what I ate or what side of the bed I slept on that night. The bizarre thing about my memory is that I can sometimes forget simple things…my memory tends to fail when I am in the middle of a stressful moment. I can forget that I’ve been in that same position before and things worked out, better than I could have imagined. I can forget that I’ve overcome tough times before. I can forget that I know things or people that can help me out of tough spots. Its like the one time I tried to ride a motorbike. When I got nervous my first reaction was to let everything go-my hands and legs flew in the air like a rag doll as the bike swerved off the road. When I’m nervous or scared I go into immediate panic scurrying about for an answer. I wish my memory could kick in at that point and remind me that I know what I’m doing

So, I have this list of qualities I want in a man I’d like to settle down with. What if the man that meets all those qualities has a list too? Even better question, what if he didn’t have a list and simply asked me to meet my own?
I think instead of looking for him, maybe I can focus on me meeting the list while Mr. Right finds me…

I love questionnaires so when I saw this on *kay’s blog ICE CREAM AND PEONIES, I had to answer. ENJOY
Hmmmmm …. this one is a good question because as I kid I really wished I could have a time machine! I think I’d want to go back to the Jesus days and see how it was. I wonder if I would have been a follower or a condemner?
2. What was your best Halloween costume? (fun to make? most creative?)
I love costumes! I’m sad to say my best was kinda insensitive. I was Princess Diana one year after the crash
A cuter one was I was a hippie in college. I make a tattoo of a peace sign on my side. I liked it
3. Do you like your name? If you weren’t called by your name, what would you want to be called?
I like it now – especially paired with my middle name DAVIDA CHANEL! When I was younger I went through a phase where I wanted people to call me Davi (pronounced like Davie). I thought it would be cute to have a boy name. My family opted for the later part of my name and called me Vida – I didn’t like that much until I found out vida means life in Spanish.
4. In the past year, what is the BEST recipe you made. Please share it!
Hmmmmm …. I haven’t cooked much this last year which sucks because I’m a really good cook.
5. Look around – what is the nearest object or picture hanging on the wall?
I’m at work but the first thing I see is a postcard w/a Streetcar going up my street.
6. What was the last movie you saw in the theater? Would you recommend it?
I saw SHUTTER ISLAND. I loved it. It wasn’t the most original plot, but it was spectacular acting and cinematography. I HIGHLY recommend it … the last line is brilliant.
7. Did you go to summer camp? Will you/do you send your kids to camp?
I went to 4H camp as a kid and yes my kids will go (my kids are going to have agendas that will include camps, lessons, classes and all the stuff I think makes life richer. Poor kids.)
8. What kind of ringtone do you have?
The regular IPhone tone.
9. Where is the farthest away from home you have ever been?
4,655 miles away (London)
10. Has anyone ever written a song or a poem for or about you?
Ummm yeah but it was kinda whack (I’m rough on that kind of stuff).
